Workplace | WPA - Film Production Studio

WPA came to us in 2024 to renovate their Soho office. A need for optimal efficiency and acoustic sensitivity within a compact central London workplace required a practical and functional approach to the design.

The legacy and richness of this iconic London location fuelled the inspiration for our narrative. Soho’s ‘Film Row’ rose to fame in the early 20th century. At the same time the modernist movement was dominating the design scene. The core modernist design principles of ‘form over function’, ‘truth to materials’ and ‘simplicity in design’ drove the concept forward.

Sustainability also guided every aspect of this space’s design. Stained plywood panels were paired with carbon neutral acoustic panels, environmentally friendly and robust paper composite surfaces and a collection of vintage and bespoke furniture. Walls and ceilings were painted in low VOC paint and were selected in work appropriate colours that promote positive effects on concentration and clear thinking. The modular and deconstructable approach ensured flexibility and longevity for all future potential office locations whilst not compromising on quality or design.
